His call

Father of life draw me closer
Lord, my heart is set on You
Let me run the race of time
With Your life enfolding mine
And let the peace of God, let it reign

from Let The Peace Of God Reign by Hillsong.

As I move on ahead into a future unplanned by me, but given over to my Lord and King, this is what He says to me; from Psalm 27:8

My heart has heard you say, "Come and talk with me."
And my heart responds, "Lord, I am coming."

A Place at Your Altar

Nahum 3:11; Malachi 3:5; James 4:8; Psalm 143:9; 1 Samuel 20:5; John 4:24; John 4:23; Psalm 84:3; Psalm 65:4

Lyrics:
I will seek a place at Your altar
Humbly draw near to You
I will hide myself in Your shadow
Worship in spirit and truth

Even the swallow has found a nest
A place to lay her young
So we are longing to find that rest
So into Your courts we come
Into Your courts we come

O the joy!

Today, I had the privilege of praying for 2 young people I have taught for almost a year and a half.

What a privilege, Lord.
May they come to accept Your grace, Your Lord-ship and have their lives renewed by You.
May they come to know Your love, Your redeeming truth.

Dear God,
I trust that You will, that You want to lead me and guide me, to fullness.
Help me, when I am scared of the unknown to reach out for Your hand,
because You are always with me.

Wow.

John 3: 10-12 (The Message)

Jesus said, “You’re a respected teacher of Israel and you don’t know these basics? Listen carefully. I’m speaking sober truth to you. I speak only of what I know by experience; I give witness only to what I have seen with my own eyes. There is nothing secondhand here, no hearsay. Yet instead of facing the evidence and accepting it, you procrastinate with questions. If I tell you things that are plain as the hand before your face and you don’t believe me, what use is there in telling you of things you can’t see, the things of God?

"choose this day"

Joshua 24:15
English Standard Version (ESV)
15 And if it is evil in your eyes to serve the Lordchoose this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your fathers served in the region beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”

Every day, a choice. Who will I choose? What will I choose?
The one I choose is steadfast, gives me "a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lordthat He may be glorified." (Isaiah 61:3)

And He should be glorified, rightly so, for there is no one as righteous, as loving, as good.

Even before anything was asked of me, He gave of Himself, He gave Himself.

Every day, a choice. What will I choose? Who will I choose?

With You

Without You, there is much I fear.
With You, I have full assurance
of where I will be,
Where I am in Your heart,
Where You will be,
Where You are.

In the midst,
The turning, turning
In the day,
I almost, I lose
Hold of Your hand.
Still, steadfast, You stand,
Unmoved by the rushing tides.
Sure, firm, Your grasp on me.
Out of the waters
Onto higher ground.

Completely silent,
In awe of You.
Yet my heart is full
In her song unto You.

An excerpt from a note to a friend

"The other thing I'm learning, also, amidst being here in busy Singapore with much 'noise' and bustle compared to our time in DTS, is that even though there are times that I can't quite put a prayer as expressively as I want to, because I am weighed down by heaviness of heart, is that God is still working. I am reminded of Romans 8:26-27, that the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

Doesn't that give us so much hope? That Christ was made nothing like us, in our weakness; that especially when we are weak, we realise even more deeply that He is more than able."

Because He Jesus Christ is God. He doesn't need me to do His work for Him, yet He allows me, desires for me to walk with Him, to do things with Him and He calls me to take His yoke upon me and find rest because His yoke is easy and His burden is light.

Why? Because God loves. Because God is Love.

Romans 8: 26-27 26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. 27 And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.

Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
